EXPANDING YOUR CRACKS

Imagine living in a dark room where there is no way for you to differentiate between the day and the night, but one day you see a crack in the room and now you are able to differentiate between the day and the night and that also inspires you to expand the crack and figure out what happens in the surrounding.

lillian with her teachers and her machine

This reflects some of our lives where we are at the worst of our moments and there is no hope for us at cracking our problems, and then suddenly there is light at the end of the tunnel and now we can either choose to remain at the same situation or wake up and stop pitting ourselves and work our brains out.

So many people think that since you have been brought up or live I the wrong side of town, you just can’t be successful but what people don’t know is that most of the talent and potential is found in those people. What these people need is just a chance to prove themselves and someone to believe in them. Trust me you will be amazed by how much these people can do given a chance.

During my short time here at the Ruben Centre I have witnessed so many successful stories of people who were at their lowest but given the chance by Ruben Centre they have thrived.

Lillian through Ruben Centre saw her crack last year May when she enrolled at the vocational program where she took on a course in neating for three months and after her completion she was employed by Ruben Centre at the production unit.

During her work at the production unit she decided to apply for a loan in terms of a neating machine where a machine was purchased for her, given to her but she wouldn’t leave with it until she had completed paying for it. Instead she was given a work place while she was paying her loan.

Today Lillian has completed paying for her loan and has moved out of the work place provided to her by Ruben Centre and has gone ahead and opened her own work place
