The Lea Toto clinic- a clinic for HIV+ children has relocated in a new site still within Ruben Centre. The clinic was initially at the farthest end of the centre adjacent to the playground. Following the construction of new classrooms and demolition of old tin shed classes, more space became avvailable and some classes were renovated in to what is now the Lea Toto clinic. The new clinic is magnificent with beautifully selected colours in each room, has a spacious waiting bay and is well ventilated.
Here is a take from some Lea Toto staff:
Anne Wachira: Clinic Administrator: “The new clinic is beautiful and even the client response is amazing. Some four clients who had defaulted clinic visits are back because they feared stigma when seen going down to the old clinic. It is a better and conducive environment, spacious and no noise.”
Diana wangari: data officer- the new place is amazing, it is well ventilated, the waiting bay is spacious and can accommodate many clients without congestion and of course no more stench from the drainage
