Cutting of the ribbon at the main entrance of the hall One major characteristic of the Ruben centre I have come to love is that it is always abuzz with activities and visitors trickling in every now and then from all corners of the world. It was no different on Friday the 19th of July when we witnessed the presence of officials from Porticus Amsterdam a donor who helped us put up a multipurpose hall. Patrick and Christine were more than gratified to be part of the official opening of the hall and couldn’t hide their joy seeing that their contribution made a difference in Ruben Centre as well as to Mukuru kwa Ruben community. The two expressed their deep admiration of Ruben’s motivation and sense of purpose in reaching out to the poor and offering a new sight in to the future. The event was graced by captivating performances from students who put everyone to task through their engaging dances and the sizzling show by the marketing and public relations acrobatics group. It was all smiles as the curtains went down as we all witnessed a momentous event that will go down in to Ruben Centre’s history books.
