The beginning of the end.
On 30th November 2020 Ruben Centre Director Br. Frank had his last monthly Centre meeting. The meeting that usually has key program staff and their leaders was a unique (for the staff members) one. As is tradition, the meetings take place on Thursday from 2:30 PM. This time round though the meeting started from 10:30 AM to a few minutes past noon.
The meeting was unique and special. The incoming Director, Mr. Makau, was in attendance and got a feel of how things go in such meetings. He also got to see firsthand how Br. Frank interacted with the program leaders. Also in attendance was Bev Watkinson, via Zoom. Bev graced the meeting to oversee how the strenuous but worthwhile new Strategic Plan unveiling went down. With only a sneak peak given to the attending members, there was a feel of excitement, joy and relief among them. It had been a long 7 months of data collection and compilation and indeed the hard work was not in vain.
The Strategic Plan will be officially unveiled in a week’s time from the time of the meeting in a retreat for the attending members and the new Director. Br. Frank seemed happy with himself and kept nudging to every person to take the plan as their own and embrace it. He echoed the words of Mr. Makau and said the plan was perfect and did not need a “BBI”.
It has indeed been a long year and the sight of things shaping just as we edge towards the last month is hope that the new Strategic Plan will bring prosperity to the organization despite the dynamic shifts. Ruben Centre once again congratulates every stake holder involved in the planning and conceiving the plan. May all your efforts turn into blessings.
