ONWARDS EVER, BACKWARDS NEVER
On the 7th of February, the start to revitalizing morale among Ruben Centre staff kicked off. Steered by Bro. George Massay, Hedwig Nafula, Bro. Chris and our Director Nicholas Makau, the 15-minute briefing highlighted on the way forward in order to stabilize operations with less friction. The District Leader began by introducing the new support Brother from Australia, Bro. Chris, who is essentially to support the East African brothers. He went on to encourage staff to seek clarity through the appropriate channels designed within the organization. Bro. Chris, who had landed less than 48 hours prior to the meeting, didn’t shy from the microphone upon being welcomed on stage. He reinstated on how dear the Ruben Centre is to everyone back in Australia hence the much gusto to ensure all is well within and out of the organization. It was clear he was delighted to be at the famous Ruben Centre as his excitement could barely hide.
Last and most important to speak was Hedwig as she had the game plan on how to maneuver the slump Ruben Centre was in. She started by stating how she wished to achieve effectiveness, efficiency and accountability among staff members. She acknowledged that there were mistakes made in the past but they are good stepping stones to have a better hindsight. On the 7th and 8th of February, Hedwig together with a colleague will sit with Ruben Centre staff whom will be in groups of 10. This will be in order to pinpoint the issues crosscutting the organization from the human resource point of view. On the 10th and 11th would then be a different meeting, this time with project leaders. Eventually all information and data collected will be analyzed and feedback given to the staff members on the apt solution.
Confident in her speech, Hedwig was insistent on there is need for a shared vision within the Ruben Centre sprouting out to donors and partners. Her end goal is that the entire Ruben Centre team is healthy and performing well, showing and demonstrating their impact. Ruben Centre Director Nicholas finished off with vote of thanks to the Christian Brothers fraternity and encouraged his staff members to work in unison for the success of the Ruben Centre.
