Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing Course Empowering Young Mothers

In March 2022, the Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing course began under the guidance of Madam Nancy Ndegi at Ruben Centre, a prominent training program in Human Development and Skills Training. The course has achieved significant success since its inception, motivating both students and the teacher. It has also transformed the outlook of young mothers who had lost hope and were in despair. Today, many of them have secured jobs in high-end salons, which is a remarkable accomplishment.

Additionally, the course's accreditation by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) is a testament to its success, as graduates can now work in executive salons and barbershops. The Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing course provides essential skills and knowledge to earn a living and support themselves and their families. Remarkably, students can complete the course in just six months and immediately enter the workforce, making it an essential program at Ruben Centre and improving the lives of many young women.

Jemimah Kwamboka is one of the young mothers who has overcome numerous obstacles to build a career in hairdressing. As a mother of two, she can provide for her children, despite them living with her grandmother in upcountry. Ruben Centre is proud of Jemimah's achievements, and her success story serves as an inspiration to others. We hope that Jemimah continues to pursue her dreams, eventually opening her own beauty product business.

Ann Mudanyi's story is also inspiring. Studying alongside Jemimah, they secured employment in the same salon, Lavish Salon. Ann's dedication to her beauty career is admirable, and she is grateful to Ruben Centre for its support. Despite lacking higher education, she can provide for her family through hard work and commitment. We hope that Ann continues to excel in her career and provide for her family.

In conclusion, the Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing course at Ruben Centre has a positive impact on young mothers' lives, providing them with essential skills and knowledge to improve their livelihoods. The success stories emerging from the course are encouraging, and we hope that it continues to empower more women in the community. Ruben Centre's dedication to transforming lives through education and training is commendable, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
