[L-R] Grace Kyuli & Belinda Kamundi at the JKI Airport

Two members of the Ruben Centre staff have embarked on an incredible journey from Nairobi to Ireland. Ms. Belinda Kamundi, the Head of Ruben Health Centre and a passionate advocate for safeguarding, and Ms. Grace Kyuli, a dedicated teacher with nineteen years of service at Ruben Centre, are currently attending the Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders (EREBB) Conference.

The EREBB Conference, founded on the wisdom of shared gatherings, aims to develop the vision of educational communities around the world, including Kenya. The conference has attracted over three hundred participants from various countries, including nineteen representatives from Edmund Rice ministries across Africa.

Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, Gospel values, and the spirit of Edmund Rice, the conference participants are united in their commitment to global solidarity and transformational education for justice and liberation.

Their shared commitment encompasses the following principles:

1. Supporting each other in developing an identity that reflects our shared ethos and Catholic character while embracing our diversity.

2. Collaborating globally to promote quality and transformational education.

3. Immersing ourselves in each other's realities as educational communities, striving to make justice, peace, and human rights a global reality.

4. Utilizing available technologies to connect, gather, and journey together.

The Edmund Rice Foundation Australia is generously funding this eight-day conference. Ruben Centre celebrates this remarkable opportunity for Belinda and Grace, recognizing the immense potential for their personal and professional growth. We eagerly anticipate their return, expecting them to bring back a wealth of knowledge and appreciation for their contributions to Ruben Centre and its community.

Furthermore, we are confident that their experience at the conference will deepen their understanding of Ruben Centre's vision and mission. We hope that their enthusiasm will inspire them to share their learnings, empowering all of us at Ruben Centre to further embody the values of Edmund Rice.

We extend our gratitude to the Edmund Rice Foundation Australia for supporting this enriching opportunity, and we eagerly await the return of Belinda and Grace, eager to learn from their experiences and continue our journey together as descendants of Edmund Rice.
