State Visit to the AEF Ruben Primary & Junior School

On October 5, 2024, AEF Ruben Primary & Junior Secondary School had the honor of hosting a historic visit from Her Excellency Rachel Ruto, the First Lady of Kenya, and Her Excellency Tamara Vučić, the First Lady of Serbia. Accompanying them were the Principal Secretary of Education, Dr. Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary of ICT, John Tanui, and Attorney General Dorcas Oduor. Nairobi Governor Sakaja Arthur Johnson was represented by Suzanne Silantoi, the County Executive Committee Member for Health, Wellness & Nutrition and accompanied by Chief Officer in charge of Public Participation, Citizen Engagement & Customer Service Ms. Zipporah Mwangi.

Day of The African Child 2024

On June 16, 1976, during the appalling apartheid regime in South Africa, students of all ages protested the neglected state of education for black children and demanded to be taught in their own language rather than that of their Afrikaner oppressors. Police opened fire on these children, injuring over 1,000 and killing more than 100 students. Reports of this gross human rights abuse went global, and the images and stories became forever etched in the minds and hearts of all Africans.

A recent group counseling session for the Kurt Fearnley Special Needs Unit on the 29th of May, brought together parents and guardians of children living with disability, providing a safe space for sharing experiences and mutual support. This gathering was not just a routine meeting; it was an exchange of personal stories, dreams, and the struggles faced by those who often feel ostracized and misunderstood by society.

Dishi na County Feeding Program

After over 3 months of anticipation, AEF Ruben Primary & Junior School children finally got to enjoy the Nairobi County Government’s "Dishi na County Feeding Program." The program put Ruben Centre in a difficult situation, forcing us to suspend our feeding program to make way for the County Government’s initiative. On January 9, 2024, the first truck, laden with shiny pots of food, arrived.
